By accessing or using AITYKE ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

AITYKE is an AI-powered educational platform that provides learning management tools for instructors, parents, learners, and future technologists. The Service includes dashboards, study tools, classroom management, progress tracking, and related features.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 must have parental consent.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for learner accounts they create or manage.

4. User Roles and Responsibilities

  • Instructors are responsible for the content they create and the classrooms they manage.
  • Parents are responsible for the learner profiles they manage and the accuracy of learner information.
  • Learners must use the platform for legitimate educational purposes.
  • Future Technologists agree to use learning resources and tools in accordance with these terms.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

  • Certain features require a paid subscription. Pricing is displayed on the pricing page.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support for refund requests.
  • The Future Technologist tier is currently free during the development phase.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Upload malicious content, spam, or inappropriate material.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by AITYKE and are protected by intellectual property laws. Content created by users (exam questions, reflections, resources) remains the property of the respective users.

8. AI Features and Third-Party Services

AITYKE integrates AI-powered features (including Google Gemini) for dictionary lookups, reflection summaries, and other educational aids. AI-generated content is provided for educational purposes and may not always be accurate. Users should verify important information independently.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Limitation of Liability

AITYKE is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or in-app notification.

  • Account Information: Name, email address, profile avatar, and role (instructor, parent, learner, future technologist).
  • Authentication Data: Login credentials via Google OAuth. We do not store your Google password.
  • Educational Data: Tasks, goals, exam scores, reflections, attendance records, and progress data.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns to improve the Service.
  • Communication Data: Messages sent in classroom chats.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Service, including personalized dashboards and progress tracking.
  • To facilitate communication between instructors, parents, and learners.
  • To generate AI-powered summaries and educational insights.
  • To process subscription payments (via Stripe).
  • To send important service updates and notifications.
  • To improve the Service based on usage patterns.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:

  • Service Providers: Stripe (payments), Google (authentication and AI services). These providers have their own privacy policies.
  • Linked Users: Parents can view their linked learners' data. Instructors can view their classroom students' basic information.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.

4. Children's Privacy

AITYKE is designed to be used by learners (children) under parental supervision. Learner accounts are created and managed by parents. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with applicable children's data protection regulations. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Secure authentication with nonce-based verification.
  • Regular security reviews and updates.
  • Access controls and role-based permissions.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it. Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytical purposes.
